December 20, 2023 | Elizabeth Dill 2:30-4pm, C309A In attendance: Robert Cowan, Annie Del Principe, Matthew Gartner, Sara Rutkowski, CarlSchlachte I. Election of a curriculum committee chairperson Sara Rutkowski was elected, unopposed and unanimously, for the position of chairpersonof the curriculum committee. II. Quick discussion of how this committee should/might work The curriculum committee can both receive and review proposals submitted by facultymembers and department committees (i.e. the literature committee and the creativewriting committee) and can also make suggestions to the department regarding the courseand program proposals the department should consider adding. The curriculum committee will meet roughly 3 times a semester to keep its work on trackand to continue work on curricular matters. III. Stuff on deck already for winter/spring 2024 ● Several literature electives are in the process of minor title updates and revisionsto course descriptions.● Faculty are working on Pathways proposals for a couple of existing courses.● There are a couple of new course proposals for the committee to review:Caribbean literature and a Graphic Novel course● Revisions to English 24 CLOs, sample syllabus, and course descriptions will besubmitted by the CRC● Annie will have meetings in January with chairpersons at Brooklyn and Medgar toresolve odd transfer situations between some of our electives and courses thatcount toward their majors. IV. The curriculum committee agreed to meet on February 28, 2024 via Zoom to review andvote on all curricular submissions that are ready for submission by that point.
