Professional Development Workshop: Genre: A New Direction for Critical Thinking in Line with ENG 12 CLOs

A message from Hope Parisi, Faculty Mentor:

A topic for Professional Development: Genre: A New Direction for Critical Thinking in Line with ENG 12 CLOs

We’re now into the second week of classes and many ENG12 instructors may be trying to integrate some genre study or genre variety into their courses as a way to incorporate the new CLOs.  Introducing “genre” as both a content theme and learning perspective may serve as a starting-point for a new sort of critical thinking and for adapting our assignments. Are you starting discussions of genre or are you interested in doing so? Let’s have a faculty development session, paid for part-timers, on Thursday, September 22, from 12:40pm-2:10pm (or 2:40pm if you have that time.) Come and share your ideas. If you like, you might even share a handout or ask for workshop-style input.
