Universal Design for Learning Seminar: Applications Due 11 November 2024

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an evidence-based framework that allows you to equitably support individual learning differences. KCeL is offering a UDL Seminar during the Winter of 2025.

                Seminar outcomes include:

  • Recognizing and addressing the spectrum of individual learning differences.
  • Identifying UDL strategies to support student success in diverse student populations.
  • Creating a course map, revised syllabus and action plan for course revision based on your course outcomes.
  •             During the seminar, you will learn how to align your course material to UDL through hands-on instruction, collaborating with colleagues, and activities. Participants will apply the core concepts of UDL 3.0, focusing on the importance of offering multiple means of representation, action and expression, and engagement. Through practical activities, you will revise your course assessments and materials using the UDL framework to better support diverse student populations. The seminar will guide participants in creating an inclusive course map and syllabus that accommodates a variety of learning modalities and abilities, ensuring all students can effectively access and engage with the content. The final step will be developing an actionable plan based on this inclusive map to implement changes in your teaching practice.
