Feedback on Composition Sequence Statement

  • A bit less verbose
  • Emphasize the relationship between the courses
  • Integrate some materials concerning the role of research and secondary materials in the 
  • Should this be more optimistic, aspirational, less dogmatic. 

Composition Website:

  • Rob – it might make sense to add the pathways outcomes against our program outcomes. We’re supposed to have both sets on our syllabi. 
  • Emily: Is the syllabus for the student or to satisfy a bureaucratic need? 
  • Rob: The document should “live” on the Comp Site.
  • Our decision to link the pathways outcomes (instead of listing them) should be our own. 

Discussion of the Sequence Statement, Course Description, and Course Learning Outcomes

  • Megan – these documents do different things for different people. Not every piece needs to do everything.
