  1. Spring 2024 Creative Writing Fair:
    1. We discussed possibly shifting our focus from the standard fair to student-centered events, a visiting writer, and/or external outreach.
    2. Joanna broached the idea of developing a podcast (like the Moth) in order to update our approach by creating an event celebrating our student writers.
    3. Eben requested that any “event” ideas be emailed to Brian and him by 3/21.
  2. Procedures for Governance of the Creative Writing Committee and Program:
    1. Eben and Brian will be meeting with Annie on Monday, March 18, to discuss structural changes and leadership selection proposals to both the CW Committee and CW Concentration. We will immediately share the results of the meeting with the committee. Stay tuned.
  3. Enrollment and Eligibility of /Selection Process for CWP Teaching Faculty:
    1. For the time being, those hired (and/or reclassified) in part to teach CW courses will be teaching CW courses; however, as we continue to grow the concentration, more courses will be opened to our colleagues (who have suitable experiences, publications, and/or degrees). We suspect this will not be a long wait.
    2. In fall ‘24, we are hoping to run the following courses (subject to Annie’s approval and our concentration’s needs):
      1. Fiction Workshop (56), in person
      2. Poetry Workshop (57), asynchronously
      3. Nonfiction Workshop (58), in person
      4. Introduction to Creative Writing (59), asynchronous
      5. Introduction to Creative Writing, (59), FLEX online
  4. AWP opportunities and awareness:
    1. If you haven’t already, establish an AWP account, here’s the link: (https://www.awpwriter.org/user/sign_up/store/individual_membership).
    2. Once you’ve established an account, contact Brian with the email you used to register and he will confirm your KCC association with AWP admin.
    3. AWP’s “Grants, Awards, and Submissions” forum offers many opportunities that are worth our consideration: https://www.awpwriter.org/contests/opportunities_grants_awards_publications
